Privacy policy
Clearfall Tank Care handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We are a small residential services business and we collect only what we need to quote work, attend your property and invoice you afterwards. This page explains exactly what that means.
What we collect
When you ring us, email us or send the enquiry form we collect your name, phone number, email address, the property address where the work is to be done, and any notes you give us about the tank, its access and its history. If you pay by card on site, the payment is processed by our payment provider; we receive a receipt reference and the last four digits of the card, never the full card number.
We do not collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act, and we do not ask for date of birth, identity documents or financial account details beyond what an invoice requires.
Why we collect it
To prepare a quote, schedule the visit, contact you with an arrival window, carry out the service, keep a service record for your tank, issue an invoice and meet our tax and insurance obligations. If you ask us for a reminder when your next service falls due, we use your contact details for that single reminder. We do not run marketing campaigns and we do not send newsletters.
Who we share it with
Only where it is necessary: our accounting software provider, our payment provider, our email host, and the licensed waste facility that receives tank sludge (which requires the collection address on its docket). We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not disclose it overseas except through the standard cloud hosting used by the providers above. We may disclose information where required by law or to an insurer in the event of a claim.
Website, cookies and analytics
This website is static and contains no advertising trackers, no social media pixels and no third-party fonts or images. A single functional cookie may be set to remember that you have dismissed a notice; nothing about you is profiled. Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting, retained for thirty days.
Storage and security
Records are held in password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication enabled, accessible only to the two people who run the business. Paper job sheets are kept in a locked cabinet at our Swanston Street office and shredded once scanned. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask us at any time for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Write to the address below and we will respond within thirty days at no charge. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first — we will investigate and reply in writing. If you remain dissatisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
